Found in my science book:
"During the experiment, please be careful!! Do not let your face get too close to the jar, because it might crack!"

Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Little did I know when I turned a page and came upon this passage well over a decade ago that my children's lives would be immeasurably ...

I never thought of THAT reason for not putting your face to close to a jar. :D
I agree! Don't you just hate it when that happens? It's almost as foul as a bad hair day.
HA...ha...that's funny
Ah, those good old misplaced modifiers. Got to love 'em.
May I ask what experiment would make your face crack shieldmaiden? Sounds like a nasty one.
I was using copper wire to channel energy from a 9 volt battery into a glass jar full of water.
It was quite interesting.
Did you have baking power/soda in the water?
Yes. I later tried the same thing in the backyard, only with vinegar instead of water.
The effect?
KABOOM!!!!!
This is one of the main differences between The Shieldmaiden and I-- she loves to do the experiments, and elaborate on them, and tinker with them, whereas I would just as soon take their word for it.
LOL. I had done the same thing with baking soda in water. After puting a battery in the water I cought the hydrogen in a test tube and lit it. How Fun! The little explosion was just that, a little explosion. Hydrogen is so fun. (Please do not try unless your a pyro.) Try and beat that with baking soda and vinegar next time.
