Yesterday was Payback

Yesterday was one of those payback days. The Queen once long ago wisely advised me that some days you simply need to pay attention. Yesterday was one of those days.

To understand what I mean, you have to understand our schedule yesterday. Spuddy Buddy and I went to the season opening game of the Texas Rangers. Immediately following this, he had his opening game for his Little League team and after that we had an awards ceremony for his Cub Scout pack, of which I am the Cubmaster.

The weather yesterday was glorious. It was a bright sun shiny day with the temperature cool enough that the sun didn't overheat. We had all the pomp and circumstance of a big league season opening game with President Bush throwing out the first pitch and two gigantic Air Force bombers flying low over our heads. The home team dominated the entire game and played really good baseball. Spuddy had told me that he had had a hard time sleeping the night before because he was so excited. He was positively glowing with excitement the entire time. I don't know which was beaming brighter, him or the sun.

Following the game, we rushed home for Spuddy Buddy to change into his baseball uniform and go to his own season opening game. Again, the good guys won. Spuddy Buddy threw out three base stealers, and was responsible for the winning run.

On the way home from Cub Scouts, Spuddy Buddy told me that this was the best day ever. I agree. It was a really good day!

Sounds like a perfect sort of day! Gary wants to carry Britt to see the Rays first home game, but I think he will remember a good bit less than Spuddy Buddy.

Sounds like a day Spuddy Buddy will remember for the rest of his life!
