Great Scot
Some people are like Slinkies.
Not really good for anything,
but they bring a smile to your face
when pushed down the stairs!

National Old Joke Day
Great Scot
In my continuing effort to provide edifying grist for this mill, I want to point out that today is National Old Joke Day. In honor of this occassion, I submit the following:
Q: How much does a pirate pay to get his ears pierced?
A: A Buccaneer.
Q: What's a Grecian Urn?
A: About a buck and a half an hour.
Q: Why don't oysters give to charity?
A: Because they're shellfish.
and finally, to get people some people in my household riled up:
She was soooooooooooooo blonde...
... she sent me a fax with a stamp on it.
... she thought a quarterback was a refund.
... she tried to put M&M's in alphabetical order
... she thought Eartha Kitt was a set of garden tools.
... she thought General Motors was in the Army.
... she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "concentrate".
Have a humorous day.

My Dad
Great Scot
Today, I finalized the probate of my Father's will and I have been out of sorts ever since. This reaction struck me as very odd indeed since my Father passed away 2 1/2 years ago.
I just realized what it is. I had taken care of my Dad's needs for so long, prior to his death, that, with the conclusion of this matter, there is nothing left that I can do for him. Logically, this should be met with a "Whew! Another thing off my list of things to do." But that is not how I am feeling. Bottom line, when you love someone, the things you do for them are not a burden, they are an honor, an act of love.
I hope that I remember that lesson when it is my turn to again lean on someone else.

you dig?
pssst.
we can explain.
we're decluttering.
thinking.
organizing.
throwing out.
re-boxing, re-sorting, re-envisioning,
reinventing ourselves yet again.
getting ready for The Next Thynge.
i mean, we are In A Mood around here.
(quick! somebody bring me another trash bag!)
and when we dig ourselves out, we'll probably go for a jalapeno chili dawg and a banana split. and then we'll re-enter the blogging cosmos.
so please hang with us just a little while longer while we dig. you dig?
(have you missed us? oh, please say you have.)
